We are a 501(c)(3) Maryland nonprofit organization. We own and operate Whites Hall, the 14-acre birthplace and boyhood home of Johns Hopkins, located in Gambrills. Our mission is to save and restored the property as well as honor the enslaved people who worked on the Whites Hall property in the 18th century. The overall property is to become an arboretum/park, open to the public. The circa 1770 house will eventually be turned into a nonprofit restaurant/tavern. Our "Whites Hall Project" will honor the former enslaved of the Johns Hopkins birthplace via annual minority academic scholarships, each named after a former Whites Hall enslaved man, woman, or child (researchers at Johns Hopkins University have, thus far, identified 47 enslaved who lived on the 18th century property).
